Just loging on at my sisters place in Sydney before flying home tomorrow..... This is a copy of my email to our close friends, for you to read whats has been happening, re Peters report from the specialists.....

Hi everyone,

We are stil in Sydney at my sisters place, just over an hour away, and leave for home tomorrow night.

Not good news as Peters cancer is serious.

We have to come back to Sydney on the 12th of February, 2007 for a procedure to treat Peter condition with "Brackie" Radiation theraphy, where they place 40 needles into the prostrate cancer, and treat in with three large doses of Brackie radiation.

One and half weeks later, he has to have radiation for 5 day from Monday to Friday, for 20 minutes a day for 6 weeks.

This is a new procedure that attacks the cancer directly and with less side effects like burning the bowl. It is just to serious to remove by surgery. We are devistated, beyond words, and know we have a long road to fight together, ahead of us.

We are so lucky as this is a very special new and very successful treatment throughout the world and Australia especially Sydney, in the top of the field with this treatment. Over 800 patients so far with great results, at St Vincents where the prodedure will take place.

The family are booking us into a apartment close to St Vincents hospital, walking distance from the hospital for us to be together during this treatment, which will start on the 12th. February 2007.

This is just a quick email, as I will contact you when we get home, after tomorrow night.

Miss you all at DPC,
love from Shez & Pete

I hope the treatment works out well. My thoughts are with you.

(I love how you say you are lucky to have that treatment available - that's a good positive sign ;>þ)

Shez!!!
Don't know if you've mentionned this before, but has the cancer spread elsewhere? What's his PSA? I think what you consider "Not good news" is actually "not bad news" because if they decided to treat the prostate cancer locally, it probably means it hasn't spread. I'm far from being pessimist with your story and I'm thinking you guys will come out OK. I really get the feeling you're in good hands and your Docs are doing a great job! One important thing...Don't give up and keep fighting.
Have a good trip back and keep us posted.
