Seems when I view RAW images in Bridge - if I have bracketed the exposure in 2 or more images - Bridge automatically "fixes" the preview thumbnail so all the exposures look the same.
Is that possible? or am i going crazy?
... and if it is doing that, how do I get it to stop?
(RAW newbie ... is it obvious?) |

Did you change something under preferences?
Post an example if you can (screen shot). |

I have a Bridge question as well. When I am home, I see my .cr2 thumbnails ok. I installed Bridge at work (from the same CD) and I cannot see the thumbnails if they are in RAW format. Only filenames (and of course jpeg's). Any thoughts on how I could see my thumbs from work?
Thanks all.

you didn't install the RAW plug-in at work?

In bridge you can turn off "use auto adjustments" and it will stop doing that. It was a source of annoyance for me as well :)

Not sure why it would work at home unless you used ACR (Adobe Camera RAW). this link will get you sorted out - once you download the plugin and put in the appropriate folder (explained in that link), Bridge will be able to read just about any file you throw at it.
P
ps of course, an alternative is to start using lightroom instead - it should have all of the necessary format decoders in it already. I'm trying to convert over to it myself but still not finding it particularly friendly. getting there tho.
edit to add: Lightroom is Adobe's soon-to-be replacement for Bridge. it's prettier for sure, and currently free as it's in beta phase.

I was confused too. I think it is when you actually click to open the raw file and the dialog box comes up. Click on the arrow.
OMG!!!!!! How come I never figured this out. Here I am reshooting to fix the adjustments that Bridge is making. And its not like its obvious they are being made (it shows you the adjusts). Oh this makes life easier.
Thanks for the original question and solution. |

erm...what he said ;)
Usually once I've loaded a new shoot, I'll apply batch settings to the entire shoot - white balance, exposure, sharpening, etc...invariably I turn auto setting off while I do that. You can also save a set of settings, and then easily apply them to any set of photos after that (also using the little arrow once you've open an image in the RAW converter). I shoot in my studio a lot, so those settings are generally consistent - saves lots of time. |
