Ok, I was seperating the files I like from the rest of the shoot. I use Zoombrowser. I made a 2nd folder to put my good shots in. I was in the middle of dragging a file into the new folder when all of a sudden my new folder was empty. I had about 10 files in it. I did a search for the file number and nothing. I looked in the recycling bin nothing. They just f%*$& vanished. Any ideas would help. Thanks.

Perhaps you put them in a different/near-by folder?

Or inadvertently dropped them on the desktop? I know I would probably never see them if they went there. :)

I know that Norton has an undelete wizard with the protected recycle bin. . . That may help if you have it. There are also a number of free (or shareware) file recovery tools available on the web. Do a search for file recovery software.

I know, probably not much help, but I wish you luck in finding them.

Have you tried doing an "advanced search" which checks in hidden folders and such?

I've had something like that happen to me quite often. Just check the nearby folders. Hopefully that will fix everything. If not...my condolences.

What type of computer operating system are you using? (eg: Windows XP Home / Mac OS X?)

first do a wildcard search for themn.

If you don't know what I mean go to search and type in "*.jpg"

if they were jpeg files. Putting the * there is kinda like a wildcard. It will find any file with the extension of .jpg on your computer.

If that doesn't work try this program:

//www.snapfiles.com/get/smartrecovery.html

this program is free and can be found at //www.snapfiles.com

whihc is the website that should be in everyone's bookmarks.

I definetly suggest "FILE SCAVENGER."

It saved my life, and a job.

Did you try searching by one of the missing file names to see if it would show up?

im am in the process of backing up everything before I start trying recovery programs.

Last thing I need is more files to start vanishing...

Have you shot a full card since? You can still recover some of them off the card if you haven't shot over them, even if you formatted it.

already shot over the cards a few times...
