I was wondering if this was going to happen, and indeed it has. Seems there's a bit of confusion regarding the description of the challenge. The portrait DOES NOT have to be taken outside, in the forest, on the beach or in a big field. The challenge is to take a portrait and present it in a landscape style crop... horizontal.
Thank you... :)

That is pretty funny! Haven't had any comments like that luckily but I did have someone comment that it almost looked like a square crop... it's clearly horizontal.

LOL, I haven't gotten any comments about it, but I DID shoot outdoors ... tryin' not to give the DNMC nazis any reason to beat me down.

it always surprises me the number of people that clearly only read the challenge title.

i got 15 comments and i did obviously shoot outside, but haven't gotten a comment criticizing that i was shot outside...i think you're taking this a little too serious, and however, most people here on dpc don't have their own photo studio i guess, so where else than outside should you take a portrait shot?!

it's okay if it's outside or inside, the location is irrelevent in this challenge.

Unless it's in Iceland... and we all know how that turns out :-)

I think you're misunderstanding Christoph... you can shoot wherever you want... as long as the frame is rectangular and sideways... not up and down, which is the traditional portrait style... :)

It seemed pretty obvious without even reading the description what you were suppose to do but I forget that this is a world community and the chances of people misinterpretating the challenge is much greater.

I still think lots of people confused type of photo vs photo orientation... After voting I was surprised how many photos in this challenge weren't really in the spirit of the challenge.
