When was the Nov free study announced...was it announced on Oct 29? I have an image that was taken on Oct 31 and I believe the free study - though it says is for the month of November, was posted on Oct 29. Would I be DQ'd for submitting an image taken on Oct 31?

It was posted at midnight on the 31st - same time the current freestudy went in.

Okay but that's midnight east coast time so it would be good if you saw the post on the screen then went out and took the photo right? My deadline for submitting entries into challenges is not midnight my time it's 6PM. I thought I had until midnight for one then it was gone before (my) midnight. I asked the question and they explained it was the servers time which is actually time on the east coast U.S.
If I have to submit my entries that have a deadline of 6PM my time then shouldn't I be allowed to submit photos I take after that time for the newly announced challenge as well? |

Since you (the OP) are in the Eastern (US) time zone, you cannot submit a photo with a date of Oct. 31 for the November Free Study.
However, someone in California (for example) could have shot a photo as early as 9:01 pm (PST) on Oct. 31st and still have it be legal, since DPC server-time would already be November.

| Okay that's what I thought... I'm in Hawaii so a photo taken at 7PM would be good. |

| simply put, if the challenge is announced, then you are good to go. but, you can't take a picture before it is announce.d (well, you can, but you can't enter ti. ) |
