Becky-Lee found this, is thinking about moving up from her P&S. How does it sound to those of you who know these things? :)

| And would this be a good start for a first DSLR? |

If I could get $600 for my 10D I would sell it right now.

| This is CAD, so yeah, it'll be higher than USD.... but what would you consider a good price then? |

Well the 10D has been out what...2 years or more? Isn't the new Rebel better than the 10D an it's like $700-$800.

| Just over $1000 here, from what I can see. Thing is, $1000 is NOT an option, $500-550 MAY be, if it's a decent deal. |

| No other 10D owners or ex-owners with an opinion? |

Not a bad deal for a 10D body with a battery grip. You'll still need to buy a lens. You could probably bargain it down to the C$400 range since you'll need money for a decent lens.
Edit: Actually it's not a bad deal at all if it's in good condition. B & H has a 2nd hand 10D body only for US$549 so C$575 is not too far off especially since it includes a battery grip.

Guess I should have specified "which lens on a beer budget" :)
Thanks for your help; I guess we stick with P&S a while longer. |

Personally I love my Tammy. It has become my walk-around lens and suits most of my needs. No need to get "L" glass for your first lens. |

Tamron 28-75 is great for $350ish. The 50mm f/1.8 is probably the cheapest it's going to get at $75 or so.
