My new monitor comes with two types of cables: Mini D-SUB cable (blue connectors) and DVI-D Cable (white connector).

The manual doesn't really explain which connector I should use or use them both. My gut feeling is that I have to pick one or the other.

Do I need to connect both? If not, which is better?

Thanks

Use only one and I would use the DVI-D Cable.

Ok thanks

Thats what i did

monitor is way too bright. Any sites that could point in the right direction for calibrating brightness and contrast?

Thanks

Adobe Gamma does OK for Brightness & Contrast (Black & White Point). But don't assume that your monitor is now 'calibrated'. For that you need a colorimeter.
