Dont know anything bout Ridata, save the incredible offer at my local camera shop.
I can get two of those for the price of one Sandisk Ultra II.
Is it worth it?
Any bad experiences that I should be aware of? |

a side question - does the CF card's speeds really make a difference with the digital camera's saving/reading speed? |

I've heard that it does, but only on SLR camera's and the such, not point and shoot's.
I stand corrected though. |

I bought a 1 GB Ridata CF card because it was a screaming deal at the time. I have 9GB worth of cards and the Ridata card consistently (every time I use it)has corrupt data. It is not the whole card, but there are always 2 or 3 images that can't be read. As a result, I can't use this card for weddings or other paid work. I don't know much about Ridata, so I can't say if my experience is indicitive of all their products/cards. I also use Toshiba and Lexar cards and have never had a problem with either.

That sounds like a bad format. Have you tried reformatting the card using your camera's format function?

That problem is very common through a PC format, isn't it?
Did you perhaps do it that way? |

I always format in camera. I have these corrupt files on the card every single time, with in camera formatting prior to each use...

I've used a 4gb Ridata card for about 6 months now. 15,000+ photos and not a single problem with it. |
