OK, well, I have this turned on in one of my profiles and not in another. Now I have a great photo with an effect I cannot duplicate. :( Guess which profile I was using.
Anyway, I've turned it on now, but I wondered if anybody knew how it actually works. Does it keep overwriting the file? Can you control the size? It doesn't seem like it keeps the information forever, but there doesn't seem to be any control over the settings.
Help?

When I go under "File" to Information, I can look at all kinds of things, including the History. It includes everything I've done to the file since opening it with CS2. It includes the RAW conversion settings, the editing I've done, turning a layer on or off, and the saves (even where). If I open it again later, it adds more to the history.
The History File is different than the History Tab under tools. That does have a setting under Preferences that you set to include the number of items you want to retain.

The history log for an image, choose File > File Info see if you can find it there.
