My hp digital camera seems to take pictures slow even with a fast shutter speed setting..its not the sutter thats slow.. its the time between me putting down my finger and actually clicking. ive had this problem with other digital cameras before.. is there a way of taking pictures faster on digital cameras?

Hmm... putting more cash for a better cam? I don't think there are ways to correct shutter lag.

Do you have a manual setting? If not you may have to try half-pressing your shutter button prior to when you actually want to take the shot as the auto-focus may be taking time to engage.

its unavoidable, just prefocus it (by holding button down half way) and the rest of the lag will be unavoidable.
its just something with digital cameras, it gets less as you get better cameras.
