I think the non-logged-in-24/7-people would raise hell, but I'd love to see a 1 hour special pop in... if you see it and can shoot it, you're in, otherwise, laugh at the people who scrambled during the right hour of the day.

Seriously, think about it. A challenge is announced and 60 minutes later closes and goes to voting. Maybe only 6 or 8 people make it in. But if that happens fairly often, it might raise the % of users that check in more often and would make for some fun voting.

Maybe if they don't give ribbons for 'em... A special category of "extreme speed challenge" award, perhaps. And anyway the danged thing is SO discriminatory in terms of who'd be included.excluded, how could it make people happy, aside from the lucky few?

Perhaps it could be announced 24 hours in advance? "Extreme Speed Challenge will post at 6 PM server time tomorrow. Be ready!" And then the topic would be revealed at the designated time. But of course this suggestion thread is for a speed free study, and that wouldn't work 'cuz people could change the time/date stamp and shoot for it anywhere within that 24 hours if they were inclined to be nefarious...

and only one day to vote. Could do this once a week so more could participate. Start to finish two days for challebge and vote.
