when does a new lens that is announced usually hit the shelves? Anybody have any idea how much this is gonna cost?

Looks interesting. I'd wait for some reviews though. I'll keep my eye on this along with the Tamron 18-250 that's going to be available in Jan for about $500. If the picture quality on either is as good as the Nikon 18-200 I'm on it!

My sigma 18-125 broke and I called service to see what the deal was on repairing it. They said they offer "trade-ups" for lenses that you don't want to fix, and I said I was interested in this lens.

But they told me that they didn't know when it would be available. (So I haven't sent in my lens yet!)
