I want to give a xmas gift 'hint' for a photography magazine subscription or photography books. Any suggestions??

I would like something that contains things like Photoshop(I have Elements) tutorials, and interesting stuff for a beginner/intermediate. I am interested in learning portrait photography, and outdoor wildlife photos.

I don't want to 'just' read a manual, but would like learning articles. I tend to mostly use the program settings on my camera and do need to learn much more...but some beginner books start too far at the beginning.

American Photo and Digital Photo Pro are both good magazines for tips, tutorials and great images / articles. Even better though is Rangefinder... which is free.

I just went and registered for the Rangefinder considering it is free...thanks for the tips

Poplular Photography as mentioned for all-around, Outdoor Photographer is excellent for your outdoor stuff.

It appears that Outdoor Photographer received alot of recommendations on this thread.

I have already ordered Popular Photography and Imaging, and the Rangefinder.

I'm thinking Outdoor Photographer is my next best choice..

Other ones I saw was Shutterfly, Is that alot like Pop.Photography?
and Digital Photo...

any thoughts, or should I stay with my choice of Outdoor Photographer.
