Hi,
can anyone help. I have just bought a second hand lens Sigma 400mm and was told by the seller that it had worked on a Canon Digital SLR 350D which I have.
When I attempted to attach I got the error ERR 99.
I wrote back to the seller and he said it will only work if I set the camera to the Av Mode and 5.6 Aperture. So I managed to work out how to do that and I didn't get the Err 99 anymore the display just shows the setting of 5.6 800 on it, but when I try to press the shutter nothing happens. When I take the lens off and put my normal lens back on it seems to freeze for a while. Eventually turning it off and on will work.
Can anyone suggest how I can get around this as feel I have been dudded. The lens is certainly in good nick but dont want to waste my $300.
thanks

Some older third party lenses need to be rechipped by the manufacturer to work on the newer digital cameras. This may be the case with your lens. I suggest contacting Sigma with any compatibility questions. |
