I was about to clean my sensor but after taking this picture at f/22 of the sky to see how much dust I have on my sensor the camera said I needed to charge batter before cleaning.

I have two questions
1. I have not cleaned my sensor in six months or more, is this a lot of dust or does it look like I'm taking proper care when changing lens?

2. What are the horizontal lines I see? Here is a 100% crop (640x640) and the lines seems to be less visible.

Lines look like whisps of clouds to me. And I'd hardly call that a lot of dust. If thats six months worth I'd say you're doing a pretty good job ;)
