If any of you have a Canon EF 400 2.8L IS USM laying around that needs a good lens hood, B&H have a really good deal on one...check it out..
Lens hood...
Don't let anyone tell you that this is an unreasonable hobby to get into, from a fiscal standpoint.
PS - MJB coffee can is offered at $1.99. And it's metal.

Sounds nice,, but mine is neoprene rubber made rigid w/ duct tape and duct taped onto an extra ring.
SO it's still w/ the silver/black theme. |

Wathcing? My family lives Red Green, dontcha ya know?
I think I have duct tape in every room of the house, and multiples in some. LOL (well maybe not the bathroom, but I have used it there)
Gee, Zeuszen.. don't go for the industrial look, hey?
I've become quite proficient at making do. It works, ugly as sin, but it works.

I do have a weak spot for velcro.
I just mounted a tiny level on a cam, sawed off the level from a stud finder gadget bought cheaply at a hardware store, sanded the edges and velcroed (hey, a new word!) it on a friends Minolta 7i flash housing. (She had trouble getting horizons straight.)
So, next time you need a level to do some carpentry or build a fence, make sure you have a 7i in your toolbox. ;-) |

Great tip!
My tripod doesn't rotate so I have problems getting vertical shots.
My solution this past week was to get a short step ladder out of the garage and bungy a feather pillow on top. That way I could position the camera how I needed. Using the remote shutter release allowed me to get clear shots.
