Anyone have online storage for files. Heard about X-drive today. I do have a smugmug account...is that just as good? Anyone have a great service?

I used connected online backup for critical data. But it costs $16.50 a month for 4GB. Nice thing is it automatically backs up every night and keeps multiple versions.
But probably not good for photos, given size restrictions.

What are you storing? If it is just image then use that smugmug account to your advantage Make a private gallery and upl;oad all your photos to that one gallery. No one can see it and you have an offsite backup.

There's not a way to save a photoshop file to smugmug is there?

Tom,
You may consider domain hosting services. Normally they are used for hosting websites, but you also get lots of storage.
At Dreamhost, for example, they charge less than $10 per month, and I get 200gb of space (and it increases weekly). Check them out. Use the referral code JEFF5050 and we split the $97 referral bonus - half for me, half for you. =)
You could use an FTP client to upload/download files from such a host.
If you do decide to get a webhost, I would try it monthly first, as upload/download speeds may vary, so you want to get a feel for how it will work for you.

| Yeah I use dream host also great service. Also Zoto.com offers 10 gigs for $25 a year and has a nice lightroom and upload client. |
