I would second Azrifel's recommendation to try a D80 for a bit and check into a light upgrade. I went to a school model shoot on the weekend (sorry no shots, I was too busy to join them for anything more than lunch) and most of them had Nikons and there were a handful of SB600's kicking around...
Gotta love that wireless flash control.... It's definitely droolworthy.
I understand that Nikon has been making some great progress in the noise departments and while I still wouldn't go for really long exposures with the CCD, I'm sure that you would be quite happy with the D80's performance. |

Jes. you are correct...i don't use the d70 much anymore so i forgot :P BUT the same holds true with the d200 - atypical ISOs are noisier...i find 125 to be noisier than iso 400 on the d200. strange but true. |

Something I never thought of. I will have to pay closer attention to this with my Canon. I often find myself using the intermediate ISO's.
Thanks for the heads up Pedro. I realize it's a totally different setup, but it's good to watch for. |

Maybe we can work out a trade. My 30D and lenses for your D70 and some lenses.
;) |
haha I have 2 D70's, a 70-300mm 4-6, a Nikon 17-80 (kit lens), a 28-80mm 2.8, a 15mm fisheye 2.8, and a SB-600 flash. Along with a Custom Bracket and sync cords and all that! haha
Problem is, I need 2 cameras. I have one as a backup incase anything goes wrong. So, I would have to get 2 30D's :)
Tempting though. :) |
My point was we have about the same in all. Camera and lenses. The only difference is brand. So why switch?
