Aaarrgh!

Perhaps this should go in the rant forum but I'm not really ranting. Just stating that I just spent almost 20 minutes writing a critique club type review of a photo, clicked on the numeral 8 to give my score for that photo and the critique was lost. LOST!! Aaaarrrgghhhh.

I was taken out to the challenge page where numerous thumbnail photos are arranged and shown how many submissions I have already voted for. Oh, woe is me. Now I have to go back through all that stuff if I want to give the photographer a useful critique. ~sniffle~

Oh well. Thanks for empathizing.

I've done that a couple of times too.

Try going back to the photo you commented on and see if the little white paper by the picture is yellow.

3 solutions (though none will get your comment back this time :-/ )

1. Before clicking to submit a comment, select it all and copy to the clipboard.
2. Write your comment in notepad or equivalent, then copy across when finished.
3. Type faster!

I think what you've run afoul of is a time limit that's coded in the site. I've noticed that if I get pulled away during voting, if the delay is too long, I'll always get "booted" back to the challenge page.
I agree with the posts above, if you're writing an extensive review/critique, write it in Notepad & copy over later.
One glitch with that, however is that if you do "time out", you've got to wait until the photo comes up randomly again. I'd recommend deferring intil you've voted on all images, then go back & do the critique. That way if you time out you can go back thru & find the image.

It's easy enough to code the form so that if it's timed out you'll be able to log in and get back all the text you've lost. I make it a matter of principle to code up my forms this way, as it annoys me like hell when it happens to me. Also, little bits of attention to detail like making sure that you can use apostrophes and ampersands in forums/comments is something I look for in a well coded site.
