Anyone else seeing an increase in Photography related spam? In the last week I've gotten spam from Myloupe and the International Society of Photographers via email and print as well as a half dozen other companies offering photography print/marketing/etc services and products. Kinda strange. I can see them hitting some of my junk mail accounts that I use for message boards but since they're going to my primary email as well, which has never been associated with any hobby, and my real home address it has me a little confused with where this is coming from. |

Have you subscribed to any photography magazines lately? Or joined any associations?
Right after I joined PPA I started getting tons of spam. |

Nothing above the block that came in once I ordered from vistaprint. Wish I never used them (Vista officially got the trash rule just for their stuff but they shared the address from what I see) :-/
I do get more junk snail mail now but that is certainly from the rangefinder subscription (I can tell since nobody else has that business name).

Not photo related, but the one that really disappointed me for selling my address info was the March of Dimes (they misspelled my last name rather horribly, so I know it was them).

Cindy, the PPA thing might be your local chapter too. I haven't gotten any spam since joining. |

I haven't joined any organizations in the last few years nor shopped anywhere new. I don't even subscribe to photography magazines. Perhaps it's one of the old companies I've shopped with in the past just now selling their customer list. Doesn't explain why it hits my physical, primary and junk email addresses though. Very odd. |
