Having just purchased the Nikon D80, I am having a serious problem with over exposure and blown highlights. Never had a problem on my D70s, in fact I get better results with that camera then the D80. Tried different settings, etc. all with poor results. In fact, my Canon A85 seems to take better pictures. Anybody having this problem?

The matrix metering sucks, checked some other forums, alot of people having the same problem. If I use spot metering with -EV I can get acceptible results, but overall a big buzz killer. Maybe Nikon will come up with a firmware fix, but at this point I am considering going over to the dark side(Canon). If you are currently using a D70 or even a D50 and are thinking about "upgrading" to a D80, I would think twice. Either get a D200, or wait to see how Nikon addresses this flaw. Nothing like dropping some coin on a new camera, two days later your 18-200 VR lens shows up, and your pictures look like they did on your Kodak DC260 in 1998.
