Went over 10,000 shutter clicks this morning on my KM 5D. Hadn't realized it until I was unloading the card this morning. :)

About 10 months of use - 1000 clicks per month on average.

Hmmm...what's your average? ;^)

@17000 since 12/15/05 That's about 1800/month. Yikes. Glad I switched from film!

Funny - I crossed the "10.000 pic. mark" tody as well. It took me a little longer though: Got my camera in May last year...

Edited for typos

Well I've shot about 5 weddings and been on a few trips. Weddings I ussually shoot 800-1000 images and trips maybe 2000+...but then I can go a days with out touching my camera. I average 2000 give or take a month.

I've had my D200 since Sept 1st and I'm @ 2177. I'd better slow down, as I'd hate to wear it out before it is paid for.

Nah - You want to blow up the shutter while it's just in warantee :-)

I am about 7K into my second rollover on the 20D.

I will probably turn 10,000 tomorrow morning (if I go out like I am planning). I'm at 9,921 right now. I've had my Rebel since April, 2004. I missed about 4 months of shooting in late 2004 when I had a broken leg.

12,288 on my KM5D. I got the camera around mid-February, so that's ... (thinks)... 8 months, so around 1,536 a month.

I do a lot of 'take picture, review, delete, try again', so the actual amount of pictures I've retained is only around 6k or so.

How did you 2 arrive at that number? I don't recall my 7D being able to keep count.....I'll look at my manual again.

7000 in two years.
3500 a year.
292 a month.
9.5 a day.

The number of clicks does not equal quality or progress. My finger is on the button so many times. But when it is not worth it I do not press it. If it was my job it would probably be 3500-7000 a month...

I just look at the last picture I took and the filename; my last picture came from 102KMxx (started out as 101KMxx, but changed after I passed 10,000) and was labeled PICT2288.jpg

A measly 592.42 per month. I've had it 2 years, 8 months and have taken 14,218 pics with it.

My 1st 3 numbers are still at 100 and I've taken (just a fast estimate) about 6-7000 shots.

From ~2000/mth (digital honeymoon) down to ~ 150/mth, sometimes less. Besides,

I still have thousands of shots to edit, although
I'm done trashing which is such a big part of the process.

Yikes.
Then again with shutter durability being a reliable 200,000 cycles per Canon, that should last you about, wait, 3 into twenty, 6, carry the 2, oh - this is easy math - about 66.66 months or 5.55 years.
Dat's a lot of clicks!

Just curious, how do you check the shutter count on the 20D?

I'm at a little over 13k in 11 months, but I'm switching to film for a while and will be shooting less, since I just can't afford that much film/processing.
