Hi all,
Long time i didn't come on here.
My question is: what is good starter studio lighting kit? and what is for pro work?
size of the place is due to change, so i need good powerful enough lighting for any kind of indoor or studio photography such as portraits, macro and still life or products.

For a starter kit you might consider the AlienBees Digi Bee Kit. Or put together your own AlienBees kit.

For pro work you may want to go with a pack & head setup. You can find all kinds of goodies here. Got deep pockets? :D

I guess you're right. I just checked their web site and couldn't find any information regarding using their lights with non-US power sources. If that's the case, then you would either have to run it from a battery pack or get a step-down transformer.

paterson interfit stellar, comes form england.
the 600ws units should be fine for most anything you want, less costly than AB units with same features and less costly accessories.

Alien Bees wouldn't be practical.

I highly recommend checking out your local store to see if there's anything available for rental.

Some choices -
Hensel worldwide. Profoto worldwide. Broncolor worldwide. Elinchrom 220V.

Oh thank you very much people for reply.
the power here is 220V50 Hz.
There is a good well known store for lightings, they sell Bowens and Multiblitz.
There are another store sell another brands cheaper some are chinese, but i will get someone good brand as Bowens or Multiblitz, and i need that kit with total power of 1000W-1600W as someone on another forum said that if i do products photography then i need about 2000W, so i am not sure.
i can get something like 600-800W which most people told me it is enough but i can't expect what more i can do with lighting later so i will take something more power and i think i can lower it, so if i need more power it is there, i think with 3 pieces of lighting will be enough for most studio works photography, so i hope if you can recommend me some kits power from 800W to 2000W good brands and i will check on B&H only.

I have a D-Lite 4 package.

You can see here a cheap austrian store that sends all over the world for very good shipping.

Supports both 120 and 240 can't do nothing but recomend it :)

Paterson makes stellar lights in 1000ws and they run on 230/50 as well.

//www.interfitphotographic.com/

They take the bowens mount for sofboxes and the like.

While it's true that lots of pros run big lights, i'm not sure it's necessary, and while you can dial them down it's still best to try and match the light output to your need.

I have 300WS and wouldn't recomend lower power lights, and plan to get a couple of 600ws units next year and 60" octaboxes. For portraiture 600ws is enough, even for groups.
