I am going to chalk this day up as Irony. Woke up at 6:30 like normal spent about 10 minutes shaking off the cobwebs and getting my head together, head out to the kitchen on the way I step in something wet on the living room floor. Hairball, Our cat was busy lastnight. Badluck that I stepped in it. Walked to kitchen to get something to clean up hairball, Stepped in something wet. WTF another hairball, more bad luck i stepped in it. Got into kitchen where the Dogs live. Paper towel I wanted to use to clean up hairballs is everywhere but on the roll. Damn Dogs. anyway I salvaged as much as I could cleaned up the cats mess cussed out the dogs and got the kids up so they could get ready for school. Everything went smooth. Took oldest daughter too school walked her in to the classroom came back outside. Car is parked in can not move. Stuck there for 20 minutes. Damn Soccer Moms. Get home to realize i had grabbed the wrong set of car keys when I took kid to school No House Key on the ring. Had to break a window in the door to get in as my wife is at work and I could not reach her, Anyway I Just finished replacing the glass now and decided the rest of the day I am going to hide in the house and avoid having anything else happen.

Anyone else having some Ironic crap happening on This Friday The 13th? of October none the less.

With that kind of luck I'd be under the covers! :) You don't have any large trees looming over the house do you? He-he.

Yeah we have 2 big maples hanging over the front of the house. I think the worst they will do to me today is cover my yard with yellow leaves.

My luck might be starting to change already. I just got a call about a car I am trying to sell this will be the second time this guy has come to look at it I think he might be a buyer which means more camera equipment for me this weekend if he does buy it. But I am still staying in the house today. :-)

I do have to go out again to take our middle kid to her afternoon class, and then again to pick up the kids. Going to wear a tin foil hat and carry a wooden stake with me just incase. haha

Man, I feel for you with the hairball thing. I HATE it when that happens with our cat and you have bare feet!

Also, one thing to try if you lock yourself out again, if your front door opens inward like most do, depending on the door you might be able to use a store membership card (or credit card if your desperate) to jam it in where the latch is and curve it around and push HARD and jiggle it around a bit, and it might be able to push the catch back into the door and then you can just push the door open. I did this just a couple weeks ago when I locked myself out. It bends the card quite a bit, so use one that you don't really use. The door handle catches are at an angle, and a lot of them don't seat all the way into the hole into the door frame allowing you to catch it on the angle part and push it in this way. It obviously doesn't work if the deadbolt is locked, but if you left without the keys the deadbolt shouldn't be locked anyways. -whew, sorry for rambling, but I couldn't figure out a short way to describe this. Hope your day gets better.

I haven't even left my covers/house yet. Yesterday the new reported a cold front bringing 30 degree weather overnight. So we decided to turn on the furnace. Nothing happened! Un-handy husband went down to wave a match around not knowing how to light a pilot (its gas) Nothing happened so I convinced him to call someone. Hopeing that he would come out light it and leave... NOOOO The whole thing is dead! They have to replace the ENTIRE furnace. AkA no heat! Now there are 2 guys and my unhandy husband trying to fit the new thing down the stairs. The furnace guy asks for a flashlight... If your in HVAC, wouldn't you have your own flashlight? And now they want to change out the water heater! Ugh!

We have steal plates in the door jams to prevent that. Or I definately would have done it. All in All it is not too bad, it is a standard size window and the glass store has them pre-cut and ready to go for $12
and it only took 20 minutes to replace the glass and clean up the mess.
