I had a Rebel Ti 35mm camera and it had a multiple exposure setting. I can't seem to find a similar setting on my 30D. Is the only way to do multiple exposures on this camera to use "bulb" and strobe setup?

I know of no way to do this in-camera. DPC user graphicfunk does quite a bit of multiple work but he uses smoke and mirrors (e.g., strobe method), not some camera setting.
If there is a way to do this, it ain't documented as far as I know. |

There is no in-camera layering ability such as is available on the D200.
However, such an effect IS achievable in Photoshop (and can be done with greater precision with the 'difference' type of layer mode which will allow you to make spot on pixel to pixel matching for each layer).
For within a single exposure, you will have to 'fudge' it with either a manual external shutter or a bit of careful strobe/lighting work. |

Multiple shot, photoshop layering is not within the rules of even Advanced editing right?

right. In advanced you can use the same image and layer as much as you want. (for example, importing 2 different RAW settings from the same image). The key is that you must have only 1 set of EXIF data for the image.

using graphicfunks methods are legal in that the shutter only opens once but you expose several times using strobes (flashes) or a cardboard shutter on the front. search the forms as there are some tutorials written by him in there. |

Thanks everyone. I might try this for an upcoming challenge.
