I mentioned in a comment to Alain on this great photo -
that deer in his part of the world are much better looking than deer here in Utah (great, now I'm going to get flamed from the Utah deer contingent).
I ran across this photo of a poor doe that had seen better days as exhibit A.
It would take a lot of lighting to get that poor deer to look as good as Alain's for sure!

The first deer looks like i is still a fawn.
the second one looks pretty old.
might be why

The first deer also does not look native to Quebec to me, probably in a zoo. Possibly a Fallow Deer? While the second deer is the wild North American variety.
