Some asked what this was.

It's one of those wire brush dealybob drill bits. To get the glow I put it in the drill and taped the trigger so that the drill was spinning the bit. I had a six second exposure using ambient light, to get the brush parts to stand out I used a rear-curtained handheld sb-600. Crop, done.

Couldn't do outside macro today, it's snowing like hell.

This is a small ceramic duck. Lighting is from the kitchen window.

Uh-oh, hell sounds like it could be freezing over. Think of all the things that are going to happen that seemed be impossible before... ;>þ

This is day 18, I couldnt pick just one out of all that I had, so I decided day 18 you all could decide which you like the best by number of comments. Walking stick I found while visiting my parents today.

Cheating a bit as I will be out on day 19 so here is my entry for it.
to give you perspective of the size of the spider the chain behind it is the kind of small chain you would see on a ceiling fan pull.

I'm a dork, this is (imnsho) is better:

And I didn't burn my house down playing with matches. Almost, but not quite.

PSA:
Kids, do *NOT* try this at home without taking precautions ... I'm quite serious. I was photographing the lit matches and, in between the first two shots, just treated it as 'in between shots' --- I completely zoned that my subject wanted to eat my house. Had I not lightning quick relfexes honed through years of training I might be typing to you from a burn ward.

i like a better because the editing looks strange on b around the flame it is not smooth where you darkened the background. other than that though i like the look of b better.

BTW i forgot about the burning match when doign mine also. it could have been bad.

Sorry 'bout that Alain. I suppose I should not mention that it was sunny and in the low 80s here today? And I had a ball with my 15mm fisheye - yeah, you're right, I shouldn't mention it....
