Anybody know the Memphis area at all? I'll be there the weekend of the 19th and hope to get some photog time in. If anybody has any knowledge of the area I'd love to get some tips on where to shoot. Also looking for some not so well to do neigborhoods I could get some decent candid stuff without getting smacked and jacked. Any GTG in the area?

| Beale Street is a must. Of course, Graceland is there too. |

I've never stopped there for any length of time, but have passed through what seems like a million times (Atlanta to St. Louis trips all my life). My favorite memories of those trips is the reflection of the city on the Mississippi river as you're passing around the city. Its a magical view and one you should try to capture. Drive I75 one evening, you'll see the view I'm referring to. :)

well.. don't know how well i know it, but i live here...
there are a couple of memphis people on dpc, actually, but so far, i've failed to get a group together...
maryba's given you some of the top suggestions. i'd only add our zoo to that list. it's a pretty nice zoo, actually...
