Anybody know of a good site to find some super premium DVD'd to backup all my junk? I did some googles and came up with all sorts of stuff that doesn't help me out. I would like some real nice ones for some family photos I would like to keep safe.

I always use the Memorex brand, you can get them at Staples and probably Wal-Mart. As far as I know, they've always been a good brand, and I've never had any problems with them.

Be sure to check and see what kind your computer uses, (+), (-), or either. I've now got a case of the wrong kind because I didn't look before I went to buy them for the first time!

I use Verbatim DVD+R's. My drive and read and write both +R and -R, I just like the +R ones more for some reason.

By gold they might mean lightscribe ones. They are good, but also more expensive. They do make some pretty sweet labels though that never come off and look much more professional. But as far as normal dvd's go, pretty much any brand will work good for data dvds. It's when you get into video dvds that you need the higher quality ones. I personally use memorex dvd-r discs, got them for $7 a 25 pack at best buy or something.

Edit to add: As long as you keep them safe and scratch free (get some cases or a cd book or something), mostly any dvds will last a long time. Oh and make sure to burn them at the lowest speed possible, makes a much better and more accurate burn.
