Basically its a Beta, up for testing--
Firefox 2 Release Candidate 2 (RC 2) is a preview release of our next generation Firefox browser and is being made available for download to Web application developers, our testing community and users who want to get a sneak peek at the next version of Firefox. Please note that at this time, users should not expect all of their extensions, plugins and themes from previous versions of Firefox to work properly.

I'll probably just wait since I have some plugins. My fave plugin is the Flash blocker. Love it.

I did also notice when I click a photo on DPC it opens in a new tab instead of a new window. That is cool as well.

You can do that in firefox 1.5 too, just need to set the right settings.

Well I don't know what went wrong but I lost all my bookmarks and the new version is acting weird. All my Preferences are lost!
After looking at the error console I am getting a Not Well Formed error for my profile!
hmmmmm..........will have to look that up.

Anyone know why Firefox resets all settings when I restart the program?

Experiences upgrading from 1.5 to 2.0?
I almost did it a few minutes ago, but got stopped when it didn't find my old installation.
I went to search for advice on whether to install over or in a new folder. The firefox support boards are timing out--I suspect that means that many folks are having problems. So I'm staying with 1.5 until 2.0x or I hear otherwise.
Please chime in here if you are a happy camper after upgrading or not. (And did you install over your old installation?)

I had no problems installing version 2! It hasn't skipped a beat and upgraded the older version no problems. I really like the individual close buttons for each tab.

| The spell checker could be a killer app for this wonderful browser. |

I am on a mac and I like this version alot better one feature that I do love is the restore session option if your browser or computer crashes. It brings you right back to the pages that you were viewing

I installed over my old installation, but it automatically found mine. Do you have your copy in a non-default folder?
Also, make sure you exit out of FF completely before beginning the installation of 2.0 -- that includes closing the download manager window.

I just got 2.0 and I love it. The auto spell check thing works wonders especially for writing things like these. The only problem I found is that fasterfox is not compatible with 2.0. I'm sure there's an updated one but I just haven't had the time to go find it yet. All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with 2.0.

Neil I installed Firefox 2 and lost everything.bookmarks and all. Now it doesn't load my profile once I come back in the program. I lose all my favorites each time.
