Today was our little get together. We started out meeting at McDonald's. From there we went to Railfest and the fun began. When Alan and MIchael saw this little engine they both gave me this look of no way are we riding on that thing... //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=40909

It wasn't long though til they found out this was the excursion train they would be taking... //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=40908

It sure was a beautiful day for the trip and seems that the railroad rubbed off on Michael as he crawled in an old engine and sat in the engineer's seat... //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=40903

But Alan had bigger dreams when he approaced the President of the Railroad about taking over... //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=40901

But after they both found out they couldn't get a job with the PRR that it had been bought out in a government buyout years ago, they chose to just stand around and watch for the trains. //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=40902

Now I am sure they both have other stories about today, I just beat them to posting...

I think you may have had a little advantage in getting these up quicker than me or Mike, considering you had a whole 10-minute walk to get home & all... but here are a few of my shots...

Anna & half of Kris...

Anna & Mike, taking photos of a tree for some reason:

Anna told us this was the train we were going to ride. It looked pretty big from a distance...

But we were shocked and dismayed when we got closer:

Mike tries to stay awake after one hour of sleep last night:

Mike fell asleep at one point, and we propped him on this train to see where he'd end up:

And finally, we managed to put the "fun" in "funicular":

LOL may have only taken me 10 minutes to get home but I had to deal with a gallery for a few hours, but still beat you and Mike it did after all take me 4 hours to make the first post from when you left.

And had you and Mike actually road the little train I would have had photos of that =o)

So when are we doing this again?

We sure did, it's too bad you didn't make it.

Wow, I've been really busy since I got back and just got a chance to look at this thread! Here are my pics, I had to search though them because you both already posted the best scenes and I didn't want to repeat them. Enjoy!

We are ready to go! Here's Alan peeking over the seat with Anna further back towards the left.

Choo-choo! Let's go faster!

Oh-uh...it just got really dark in here. I wonder if I can take a photo inside the tunnel? Maybe not...

Hey, look!! There's the front of the train.

Cool view from the top of horseshoe curve. Get your head out of my shot bi#@h!

Standing in the middle of the tracks while the train is still running should only be done by a trained professional! Do not try this at home.

The controls/dials in the engine room.

I am here to eat your soul!!! Shame I didn't have this uploaded in time for the Dreams and Nightmares challenge!

Here are a few more. I guess there's a limit to the number of images per post because it wouldn't recognize these in my first post.

Retired train in sepia.

I regret using the stupid in camera solarize effect for this shot.
Alan: "My Nikon blows your Minolta away Anna! Pathetic! HaHaHa."
Anna: "F you Alan. Hungry?? Get ready for a knuckle sandwich!"
Looks like Anna is ready to punch Alan in the face! Boom!

Here comes another train!

It took me this long to notice your contributions to the thread, Mike...! I enjoyed your dialog in the solarized shot... I'll have to remember that effect -- I don't look half as dorky as I normally do in that shot! :)

you both seem to have missed one thing. My back up is lurking behind the tree ready to come to Mommy's rescue.
