Any ideas how I could pull off a volumetric light effect in my little pretend basement studio?

A snoot on your light and some smoke.

Thanks for the reply. Any other ideas? I forgot to mentin that I only have continuous tungsten lights.

Nope, that's pretty much how to do it. Since you're using hot lights just don't build your snoot out of anything flammable.

or you could build the snoot out of something flammable to get the smoke :P
