Also, SC, I think some people are voting down my HC II entry because they think I'm an idiot. I have e-mailed you my IQ score and I would appreciate it if you posted it with my picture, as it is well above the "idiot" range and even exceeds "moron". Thank you!

I wasn't worried they wouldn't get to it. Rather, I was worried I'd goofed sending in my proof last night.
I also knew it takes 24-48 hours to validate, and that voting would begin before validation; that was my fault for sending it so close to the beginning of voting. So it wasn't "rush through my validation," but rather "did you get it?"
But actually, this raises a question for the SC:
Is it automated, so when someone submits the DQ request, the photographer immediately gets a proof request?
Or does an SC member review the DQ request and then send the proof request? I assumed that was the case, so I was worried that my proof submission had gotten lost. If there is a quick review before creating a proof request, can I ask that the SC members check the inbox first?

It's the latter, kinda. We all review the DQ requests that come in, and have to have at least 3 unanimous votes of 'request proof' in order to escalate it.

You shouldn't really be sending your originals via the 'contact' system, unless it's for a challenge that hasn't started voting yet. Normally, you go to your image's page in the voting list, and click on 'request validation note' (or similar wording) and that'll take you to the correct upload page which will automate the validation process for you.
Hope that makes things a little clearer :o)

The top 5 finishers are automatically sent validation request. Otherwise, several of us have to agree that proof is warranted and request it manually. If you send the original via a ticket, we might not see it before requesting proof, but sending it via "request an admin note" puts it directly into the validation queue. |

Thanks, guys. Just to clarify, Manic: I sent it via ticket because voting hadn't begun yet.
Given the nature of my shot, I was quite sure someone would submit a DQ request. I certainly would've. :)
Knowing that requesting validation during voting is more direct, and that I sent the ticket only 90 minutes before voting began, I see now that I would've been better off waiting that 90 minutes and then clicking the validation request. I'll do that in the future if it's going to be that late.
Thanks again! |
