This home was to be finished in 10 months. It is way ahead of schedule and will be ready in about a month. Total time...about 6 1/2 months. This was to be nearly impossible in the aftermath of the hurricane!
Builder is steady and has all his ducks in a row.
Here is a shot of the Living, Kitchen, living and dining area.
You are standing by the "side" door which is to your right.Door to your left leads to the back yard. Kitchen bar on upper right, front door straight ahead, living area on the left.
TV will go over the fireplace.
This home went up so fast, I'm scrambling to get insurance and tax money together! I was planning on February and I don't have it all yet...ouch...! Insurance rates are ASTRONOMICAL after the hurricane...if you can't get it at all.
This is three photos stiched together in a hurry. Please ignore any illusions of broken wood or curvy floors and celings !
Here is another by request. Thanks for the interest!
You can see the house going up from vacant lot to about 2 weeks ago on my smugmug by using the link in my sig!

Congrats -- looks beautiful!
I went to Ocean Springs, MS, this spring on a church mission trip to help out with clean-up efforts, and having seen the destruction I can certainly understand what you mean when you say your house was done very quickly! It looks awesome -- best of luck to you in getting into it soon! |

You know you're a photographer when the first thing you think of to do in your new house is it take a pano to show your dpchallenge friends

You are right about that! My wife couldn't figure out why I took "overlapping" pics until I showed her the finished print. She said why didn't I just buy a camera that could "do that by itself"!!
I posted a shot of the out side also.

It is in Covington, Louisiana...on a small NON TIDAL lake that does not flood! It is a whopping 45 feet above sea level. That is 50 FEET higher than the house I'm currently living in!

45 ft?! That's ridiculous! I would have thought you'd have to go to Alexandria to find that much dirt... =] I had a house in Slidell that was 'high' at about 19 ft. |

Nope...not Alexandria...45 feet verified by survey. This is 3 feet above the minimum height required to build a slab home. If land would have been at 42 feet or below, I would have had to build a "raised" home in order to get to 45 feet.
Adding fill to get to the 45 feet is not an option for some reason.
FYI...if you drive 15-20 miles north of my new home, my GPS reads 60 feet with margin of error being +/- 5 feet.
