Okay, before anyone else says it, yes, I'm still a newbie.

I was just voting in one of the challenges, and it says "This Photo Has Been Validated". What does that mean?

And while we're at it, what is WPL? I keep seeing it all over. Oh, and is there a page somewhere for newbies like me with a list of all your fancy acronyms so I can know what the heck you're talking about?

Thanks!

"Validation" means the original image was submitted to Site Council (SC) and the submitted image was found to have been legally edited from the original. If you see an image in a challenge that you believe was not edited according to the rules, you can request validation on that image by clicking a link on the voting page.

WPL = World Photography League, a "side competition" composed of teams of DPC photographers run by southern gentleman. His profile has links.

"This photo had been validated" means that someone thought the photo was illegally edited or taken. The validation shows that the Site Council (SC) has looked into it, and the photo is ok.

Here is a link to a FAQ.
