Hasn't anyone stopped to think for a second that I might know my photo is slighty off from perfectly straight? That maybe, just maybe that was intentional and that I didn't slip rotating it in Photoshop and decide "Ah well I've gone too far now, I just don't have the energy to rotate it back to straight."

Gargalarghagrargh!

When I look at an image I assume everything was intentional. If your intention doesn't work for me, I'm likely to tell you so. Perhaps you did go too far? Perhaps your rotation doesn't make up for not getting the shot "right"? Or perhaps your commentors are just blind idiots who don't know how to view your rotated image....they should be mind-readers, I guess.

There will always be comments you don't agree with. Some will be hurtful, some helpful, some just stupid.
People are just giving their opinions.
Important never apologize for your work and don't explain it.
Oh almost forgot the other thing that helps ..enter another challenge and show them your ribbon.

Bear in mind that just because you know your shot is slightly off from perfectly straight, does not mean that fact is appealing to the viewer.

If a viewer finds an editing decision you made unappealing, should they not offer that as constructive critism, so that you know what decisions are (and are not) appealing to viewers, so you can use that information in the future?

I find selling my image that got voted 5.4 for $300 helps me feel a lot better about the dumb comments.

I ALWAYS feel good about the comments that tell me how cool I am (oh, and my photo too).

Posts like this make people NOT want to leave comments.
People have been complaining they arent getting comments and then when they do complain that they are getting them. This is frustrating to me since I am not sure what to do.

As far as something like this is concerned, Yes, you may have intentionally rotated it to have a slight angle. When you want an angle it needs to be obviously intentional. If it is slight, it is interpreted as a mistake. Some people have a hard time seeing if their image is interpreted with an angle. I have such an image in my portfolio.

When I give a comment on an image Im going to say it as I see it. Even if its something you already know, or has been told 10x in previous posts. That is the purpose of a critique. I'm sorry if this offends you. I don't EVER intend for a critique to be hurtfull. Its always left with the best intentions of letting you see my view on the image. Remember, we viewers don't have the emotional ties that the photographer has when shooting it.

You are completely right my friend. My comments were in good humor, and I hold no animosity towards those who leave critical comments. I was not hurt or offended by any of the comments left and I always gratefully return the favor to those who comment for me.
