But I do have one question. I heard that sometimes the shutter will collapse against a wide-angle lens. I don't know if this is the deal with this Peleng, combining with my type of camera.

Any ideas?

With some full frame cameras, there can be a problem with the mirror hitting the rear of the lens. With the smaller mirror on the APS-C DSLRs, there should be plenty of space.

The mirror doesn't hit the rear element on either my XT or my film camera (1N).

It's a good lens, nice for interiors since it sucks the whole room into the frame. It's cool on film cameras too because it makes a circle in the middle of the photo and you can see 180 degrees around.

Here's a picture from last night at a local photography show reception, the picture on the far left is Ristyz's (hope it's not in a challenge.. heh), and the cat is mine.

I had heard that it was mostly a Nikon issue with film cameras having 100% viewfinders i.e. the F3, F4 etc. I didn't know if the issue existed with Canon cameras or not.

I'd still be careful before putting it on a Canon camera with a 100%
viewfinder. Breaking the mirror on your camera is not only 7 years bad luck, it's expensive too.

I've scratched the mirror on my eos 10 with a 28mm cz (m42) lens.

hey this is strange.

I got 3 color filters (the small ones). How on earth can I attach them to the lens? it doesn't fit?

is there a drop in filter slot at the back of the lens?

what do drop in filter slots look like?

well, usually they would be on longer lenses, 300mm and above, there would be a filter holder that pops out of the side of the lens close to the mounting side. I don't know, it was just a guess.

no nothing like that. and the filter is too small to fit in the hole around the small glass-thing.. weird.

I'll check next week with my teacher, I'm sure he know how to do this. thanks anyway!

Oh, Here we go

They screw in the place of the rear element.

Meaning you can take the rear element off, and replace it with the filtered glass instead.
