The local fire department is looking to start an intranet service for its members. The only problem is pricing. A neighboring department is using WebOffice and we like what we see, but the pricing is above our capability (around $3,600 per year).
I have sent them an e-mail seeing if we can get alternate pricing, but that was just a couple of minutes ago on a Sunday. I don't expect to hear back from them right away.
Does anyone have any viable alternatives that they know of? |

What are you looking to be able to do on the Intranet site?
From where to members need to be able to access it?

Well, we're looking for
Newsgroup capability (so that we can discuss things).
Online calendar of events (that can be commented on).
An area of downloadable forms.
Online database spreadsheetsand whatever else comes to mind.
We do like the site the neighboring department is using and their features, just not the price involved.

If we use this in conjunction with several other online sites it may work. Too bad we can't have it all in one place. Thanks for the link. I'll pass it on.
