Last time I was browsing my photos, I noticed a strange effect:
When I rotated a photo (in “windows picture and fax viewer”) 90 degrees in one direction (and then 90 degrees back), it turned out much sharper and better in colors, and also a little desaturated (which you can see on the photos).
First I thought it was a problem of windows, but then I noticed, that this rotation effect only works on photos, I shot in adobe RGB color mode.
So is this only a problem of the camera software or is it also a windows intern problem and i also wonder if you noticed the same or similar effects?

Find some way of doing lossless rotation - that little app resamples your image, so each time you rotate it you lose quality. Try it with an unimportant image, or with a copy - rotate it over and over and you'll see. It looks sharper because it's crudely sharpened for your screen, and the colour goes because it's probably now in an sRGB colour space.

I think that's right.
