Only one more day, and the "30 Pet Days", are over for me.....
I have really loved every minute of this, and thank you so much for all the great Pet images I seen, and shared with you all.
I also would like to thank each and everyone who has commented on my images, and you all "Rock" in my opinion.....

Things I̢۪ve learnt from the 30 day pet portrait challenge:
It̢۪s hard to come up with a decent picture of a pet everyday!!!
They only do so many interesting things.
And I can only capture those moments in so many creative ways.
So it gets difficult to keep the pictures interesting.
But it̢۪s been a helpful experience in trying out different things and making me think more.
I̢۪ve also got a couple of pictures that I̢۪m pleased with and I probably wouldn̢۪t have gotten them if it wasn̢۪t for this challenge {thanks Leroy!).
I must admit that at least half of my pictures so far have been old ones.
But even that isn̢۪t necessarily a bad thing.
It made me go through some old photos and sort them out and it also made me use some Photoshop skills to resurrect them.
All in all it̢۪s been quite enjoyable.
I’m still a week behind, but I shall catch up and finish, I may be a couple of days late, but stillâ€Â¦..

We are nearly at the end, now, one more day fo me, so come on everyone, give us your best images, and tell us what you enjoyed about doing this 30 Day Pet project.....

my final two images for the 30 Day Pet Portraits are both in memory of Max. Max was so sweet. He passed away in September, but remains alive in my memories.

I've really enjoyed the official 30 day pet portrait thread! All the photos have been absolutley priceless! It's been fun leaving comments and I thank you all for all the wonderful comments received.
Many of my photos have been of our pup Bodhi - she is so much a part of our family. Gotta love that there's lots of animal lovers at DPC!

Day 28, The low key thing is fun, I will be experimenting with this much more. Most of my shots are taken with two kids hanging on my arms. So I took about 5 mintues to set this up and shoot. I am going to reshoot to get a similar shot. I would have combed the models hair. Added a Hair light to make her hair stand out a bit more. Made the dog sit then ask er to comb the dog. Rather than diaper I think soft footy pajamas would work better. This is really a candid as she steped into my dog shoot. But I still like the results.

I still have photo ideas, though. For example, I was going to to put Sharlene in the washing machine (she's fully washable, you know).

Day 30  This is my final image, called the "30 Day Pet Collage".
I have collected all the pet images, I took during the month of October 2006, and put them together into this collage, as a final tribute to the wonderful pets that I took photos of.
My friends and neighbours who live here in the village with me, are tops in my book, for allowing me to take as many photos of their pets as I wanted. I am so blessed, and thank them all.
I have many new friends in the animal world now, and look forward to visiting them often. I also plan to present each pet family, with the photos of their pets as a keepsake.
I would also like to thank you all, each and everyone who participated in this project. I loved all your pet photos, and I also enjoyed making as many comments as I could. I think I have commented on nearly all of them, where possible. You are all very gifted photographers.
I also must thank the pets, for all their patience.....

The quality of this is horrible, but since this is the last day( and I only recently joined)I thought I'd post it to say Thanks for the comments and its been fun.
This shows that even a big thoroughbred who was racing only a year ago can make a great pet and warm a young lady's heart. |

DAY 31
My last entry is Fester. We called him our White Alaskan Wussy Hound but he was actually our handsome husky/wolf mix straight from Alaska.
Fess was a smart boy, caring & sensitive and always loving. His beautiful fur coat was incredibly plush - we couldn't keep our hands off him. Sometimes he seemed more like a person than a dog. We miss him alot!
Fester showed us that a house with a dog is Home. We have never been without a dog since Fess passed away.
I'm so glad I particpated in the pet thread. Thanks again for leaving so many great comments and for sharing all your wonderful photos and beautiful pets! |

That's me (and Nikita) finished for now :) It has been a lot of fun taking part in the thread and thank you everyone for your comments and photos. I still need to catch up on commenting but this has been a brilliant experience.
It's hard to come up with something new every day especially when I'm effectively unable to get good light most weekdays (away at work when there's good daylight) but it's a good challenge. |

This thread has been so much fun; even though I fell drastically behind towards the end. I'm only up to day 27, but I'm going to squeak out 3 more before the day's end! Thanks again for the great comments. I'm still trying to catch up on reciprocating! I'm so impressed with all of the great shots that everyone took!

Had a blast taking & editing these pics, thanks for all the comments & everybody who joined in on the fun. I'll still probably be playing around with some more pics with all the ones I took this month.
