I've been a member of this site now for about 1 month (I joined at about the time I purchased my 30D after many years in 35mm film). The quality of the challenge photos always amazes me. I'm very impressed with the shooters' imagination and post-processing techniques. I've also noticed that some photographers offer prints for sale. This leads to my question. After all the post-processing (with the exception of size), are these pictures suitable for printing as-is or are there other steps involved to make them "printable"? It may sound like a dumb question, but I'm just now getting more and more comfortable with Photoshop, and I thought some input from some more experienced digital photogs would be well appreciated. Thanks. |

First read the FAQs in the DPCPrints Help menu and the tutorials in the Learn menu. Most important things are the aspect ratio and the resoluution of your image.

I'll be the first to admit that when I know I'm editing for DPC I sometimes get kinda sloppy because I know you won't be able to tell at web-size. If I wanted to print those sloppy shots, I would re-edit them from scratch first. Most of my work, however, is edited at full-size and will print just fine.
