Amazing - where was this taken ?
It's hard to get a perspective of size - roos come in sizes from possum size (large cat) to tall man. I'd love to see something in the background to give us an indication ?
I wonder if they used these fellas for that plane movie "Snakes" ? LOL |

The question on everyones lips!
Did he/she shot that with a wide angle lens (from 5 feet away) or a super zoom (from 50 feet away) ?
Hmmm - I wonder !
Personally I would go for the super, duper zoom (the one you use back at the car).

That's so cool.
Although, it looks to me like a Wallaby, not a Kangaroo. They are smaller.
Still, it's an amazing thing for a snake to eat. I'm glad it didn't explode like the one that ate the alligator - //www.snopes.com/photos/animals/snakegator.asp.

Why? That snake is in no position to mess with you at that point. If I remember correctly, once a snake gets an animal in its throat, he can't abort the swallow.

ya\ my father in law has a (dpc 3/10, no focus / motion blur ) pic of a local snake (3' black/water snake) with one leg of a frog in his mouth ... (no macro) but the frog was still trying to hop away ... would have loved to have seen it ...
not a kangaroo though ;)

It was a ‘Roo. Burp! It needed a little more salt and a touch of garlicâ€Â¦.Wish there was a nice glass of red to wash it downâ€Â¦When we were kids my Dad shot Kangaroos and mum cooked for us kids. Our favouriteâ€Â¦ Kangaroo tail soup! Absolutely divine. In this country you can’t camp near a river because the Crocks will eat you. If he misses, the snakes will get you, (the worlds most deadliest, anyone of about 50 species will kill you)or the spiders,in the surf the sharks will get you or a legion of other monster that prowl the bush will put you to bye byes. Question why the hell did my forefathers come hereâ€Â¦? Oh I rememberâ€Â¦they were convicts. Compulsory is no choiceâ€Â¦but you know what ? Wouldn’t live anywhere else for quid’s.

There is actually a fog that I have heard about that contains a certain poison. When a snake shallows the frog whole - the frog releases the poison and forces it the snake to regurgitate the frog. The snake is then paralysied for quite a while while hoppy makes his escape. Don't know how accurate this is - I would imagine it wouldn't take the snakes long to learn to leave this species alone.
I was only joking about the being in the car. It's only an Australian python. Most are harmless and are even kept as pets (with a licence - of course). |

stupid snake. yeah, it ate the whole thing, but has left itself completely vulnerable. can't slither away quickly, can't get down a hole. will probably spend more than a few days with a 'holy crap' look on it's face. if it's a he, can't begin to imagine what kind of grief he's getting from his wife... |
