What exactly are you looking for? Random images? Database backend? Do you have any examples?

Hi there.... you may wish to do some research before deciding to go ahead with a totally flash homepage. I would suggest a regular page with some flash graphics incorporated in it.
Full flash sites are usually not rated very highly by the major search engines. I am far from an expert, but as I understand it they have "spiders" which are computer programs that automatically check web addresses and index pages based on content and meta date and key words. Flash pages are not read very well by these spiders, and as a result they do not rate well on search engines.
Keep in mind as well, that a large part of world is not yet using high speed internet, and waiting for a flash site to load will cause many to leave because they do not want to wait.
Just my 2 cents.

really, nothing to complex. Just something kinda catchy for a homepage with buttons or links to some flash galleries. I was using a demo of a template that you can see here...

I kinda like how the flash animation works on this |

If you're willing to spend a few bucks you're just as well to purchase a good template. I'm certainly able to help you in that regard and with any tweaks to make it exactly how you want it.
You'll need to consider how you're going to update the site of course in adding pictures etc in which case bassman certainly has a valid point about having an html site with flash embedded such as with simpleviewer.
Anways, here are a couple places with photography flash templates if you're interested:
Flash Vista
Template Monster
Template Kit
There are tons out there. Just google it.

Do you have CS2? In CS2 you can create some simple flash-based galleries of your images. You can try it, I think it is under File>>Automate>>Web Photo Gallery, and then you can select from three flash-based galleries, as well as some other java-script based ones. Those can be a good starting point and won't require too much expertise.
Since you mentioned that it is for the f&f, it may not need to be any better than default, but I may be wrong not knowing exactly what you're aiming for.

actually, i just found that CoffeCup has a program called Firestarter that allows you to create your own flash animations. It looks pretty good. I think i might buy that. That way I can customize and change it myself. Thanks for your help! |
