How about a random photo of the day?
It can be placed in a small corner of the mainpage as a thumbnail.

How about a Photo Of The Day award....just like other sites. It would certainly be encouraging for non ribbon winners to have a crack at an award of sorts.

I like the Random photo-a-day...or just maybe a random photo every time you update...but only photos put up that day will be able to pop up...after the day those images along with all the others before it will be banished from being randomly chosen for that spot ever again.

| Our web gallery has a feature where it puts a random photo in the corner every time the page is refreshed. For the most part, it's really cool. It gets you to look at photos you might not find otherwise. The only problem is that every once in a while it grabs a photo that you might not want it to, like the time my grad school advisor was browsing photos of our department picnic and a vacation photo of me in a bikini popped up in the corner. So there might need to be some sort of filter on the types of photos it grabs (at least the same nudity filter that's already in place elsewhere on the site). |

I like this idea too. I had an idea awhile back to have Profile of the Day so that people who don't hang out in the forums or finish high can have some time to get more views of their photos.
