Well... yesterday I went down to the camera store that I used to work in. The Pentax rep was due in and I wanted to see the new K10 and find out if the 645D is ever coming out.

The K10 looks and feels great. I just got the K100 so I'll have to wait a bit for a K10, but its next on the list. He also had one of the new "supersonic" lenses- SWEEEEEET!!!!

As for the 645D he said that is indeed on its way. He admitted that there is a bit of a discussion going on to decide if a 18MP medium format is enough or if it should be a 22MP. The rep said that both models have been tested but Pentax is very concerned about the availability of the 22MP sensors in high enough quantity. One of these days we'll see this come out- no idea on price- he guessed under 3k for a body, maybe $2499.

Anyway.....He also had one of these fisheye zooms I played with it and ended up buying one- should have it tomorrow. Now I find myself thinking that there was probably another piece of glass that I could've really used more, but we'll see. Guess I'll be posting lots of close ups of my dog (a fisheye classic).

OOOF I'd love to hear a bit about how that fisheye zoom handles and works. Maybe take some test shots at different amounts of zoom?

I've got my eye on one for later when I want to go W I D E angle.

I tried getting a tighter shot of my doggie, which the lens is very capable of, but he kept licking the lens, so I had to back off a little.

The second shot was at about 15mm. I have to say I am very impressed with the lens. I was kind of kicking myself because I was afraid I had just spent $499 on a 'toy' lens- something that I would just pull out from time to time. But, this is a really nice ultra wide. Very sharp. I love this thing.
