I was wondering if anyone here might have any experience with this monitor? I am in dire need of a new one, and this one looked interesting.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm wondering why I should avoid it?

No idea why myself. 5ms is very fast compared to the usual of 8ms.
By the way, 22 inch must be one hell of a monster, LOL.

TN panels are 18bit - hense the low response time - less colours to display = low response ;)

some people can look at a 60hz monitor -
most cant though // when you sitting up close to it you can see thr flicker / if you use 60 hz in an office environment (florencent lites ) ugghh!!

there is no refresh rate with LCD/TFT!

when you connect a LCD/TFT to the analogue socket of your graphics card it sets refresh @ 60hz because it doesn't need anymore than that.. when you use the DVI out on the graphics card it no longer needs to use the RAMDAC

correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 5ms, 8ms pointing towards the LCD's response time, and not refresh rate? Last time I read, the shorter the response time, the better and more suitable it is for watching HDV or playing games - it's about video sync, I remember.

Older LCD panels have a pixel-response of 16ms, which is considered slow. Newer ones goes to 8ms and like the Acer he asked about has a 5ms which is blazingly fast!

And every 22 inch LCD being sold right now uses the same panel. That Acer, the Samsung at the bottom of the page you linked, etc. I believe he means 8 bit. 16.7 million colors, so not true color.

WOW Bobster, you been a member here for well over 2 years yet never commented on a photo, entered a challenge or voted on one either.. nothing wrong with it, I was taken back, went to your profile to see some of your work and saw NADA!

don't mean anything by my observation just a bit shocked...
