I am about to get ACDSee 9 or possibly ACDSee Pro.
My concern is a message I read in a newsgroup that ACDSee doesn't convert RAW files that well. I am not sure what the poster meant, but I researched ACDSee just to be sure it can convert my Rebel XT RAW files and it can.
So, could the poster have meant that it converts the files, but does a poor job of it?
Anyone have problems with the quality of RAW file conversion in ACDSee 8/9 or Pro?
Thanks~

According to their website, 9.0 supports RAW. But, it only says you can see the RAW files and metadata, not convert them.See here..
A lot of the people on here use RawShooters Essential. I started using it, it's a marvelous thing.
Edited for bad spelling

Yea, I have tried RawShooters and it works good. But what I am mainly looking for is software that will help me organize all my images. ACDSee does a nice job of this.
Does anyone have ACDSee Pro? Does it do a quality conversion of RAW files?

I have ACDSee Pro. It doesn't do any conversion of raw files, other than to be able to display them as any other image file. It works well in that regard - except that the display of raw files will feel excruciatingly slow compared to displaying jpegs. (okay, my raw files are 15M in size and jpegs are generally around 5-6M, but it feels like it's more than just a "size" difference in terms of how long it takes to display the files)
Still... I would not trade ACDSee for anything. It works *very* well for me.
