I am currently looking to drop a little coin on setting up a home studio. I have just about everything picked out, but need to know where I can get decent background paper in the Denver, Colorado area. I have found it online, but due to the shape/size, shipping is unbelievable.

So, I am looking for anyone who knows where I can find background paper in the Denver, Colorado area. I am really only looking to start out with black and white.

Part two: what widths of paper are good for shooting individuals, up to full length, and small groups?

Thanks for your help. As usual, you guys rock.

Aaron - I have purchased background paper from Mikes and Wolf Camera. The downtown Wolfs seems to have the largest selection of colors and sizes in stock but they are willing to ship to the other stores if you can wait a couple days. If you happen to be in the Boulder area the Mike's there is their headquarters and usually has an excellent selection in stock. The Park Meadows store almost always has black, gray and white.

I get the longest size they carry and use it for everything. I can't find a good reason to be switching paper back and forth unless it's for color change. Besides -- it' hard on the paper and I'm cheap. I don't want to replace it unless I have to ;-)

Did you have to replace it after this shot... LOL!

This one was the worse!

That red frosting was everywhere, including all over dad when he picked her up to run her to the bathroom for clean up. The kids are twins and we did them one right after another. We cleaned frosting out of their ears for a couple hours after. But it was one of the most fun photo shoots to do. They had frosting EVERYWHERE!

Here's what B&H has to offer paper

I don't know if this is a standard name for it. I just go into the store and buy the longest roll they have in stock.

BTW - I have never paid this much for paper. These prices seem really high to me, which is surprising for B&H

I just looked at my paper -- it's 107" x 12 yards by Savage. I paid $44.95 at Mike's Camera.

Debi,

Thanks for the information. I was not sure if Mike's or Wolf would have it. I will stop in Mike's by Park Meadows and see what is available/orderable.
