Members Challenge: Ten Steps or Less

Challenge Details: The photograph is not the challenge this week it̢۪s how well you can achieve good results in post processing using limited steps. When post processing a photograph you have to go through steps starting with Converting from raw to Tiff or JPG all the way down to saving for web. Your challenge is to do as much or little post processing to make your image pop in ten steps or less.

Extra: Going over ten steps is grounds for DQ. You can view how many steps you have used in the history file while processing. Each step must be listed in the description area of your photograph. Advanced editing rules apply and your photograph must be taken within the dates allowed.

Not, if you want a frame, for example. Regularly you will have at least the steps ( in reverse order) "save for web", USM, canvas size (once or twice), resize. So only 5 or 6 left. For those who shoot RAW, another step gone. What about cropping and/or rotating (often necessary)? So it's anything but advanced editing (each use of clone stamp or healing brush would be one step!)

Set in-camera sharpness, contrast & saturation up and maybe save a couple steps..

eyewave - you're right, I stand corrected. I forgot about dodge & burn. Actually, side-tracking, how about a no-cropping challenge too? Where you gotta compose and cannot crop after you press shutter - a pain in the arse for many? :)

No cropping, no rotating - I would love it!

I'd prefer a no shutter pressing challenge but that's just me.

Sounds interesting, but unenforceable as to verifying "Ten Steps or Less".

Might as well do this one again if you have a hankering for thin pp: Straight from the Camera

Our digital cameras have a little computer inside that post-process in-camera. What if My computer has a built-in camera... LOL

A self timer challenge is a good idea - though free study-ish. Maybe require people to use a self timer and be in the image themselves.
