Hey All,

Ok, I have been using it for about 6 months and do not seeing any difference in the photograph even if I rotate the filter. How do I see the difference of using circular polarizer? I would appreciate if some one can post the same photograph taken by rotating filter.

For the most effect you need to be taking the shot 90 degrees to the sun. If the sun is directly in front or behind you, you will see no effect.

You'll see the strongest difference when you point the camera at a 90 degree angle from the sun on a clear day and rotate the filter. It's also great for minimizing (or emphasizing) reflections on water and glass.

Circular polarizers are used for photography because linear polarizers work TOO well... they cut off the light that a DSLR uses for metering and autofocus. Yes, in a pinch you could use the glass from a pair of polarized sunglasses, but it's not as convenient and may not cover the whole lens.

Here are a couple of comparison shots I took with my new polarizer. Works great at removing glare from the water!

You see major difference in skies if there are a couple of puffy clouds.
